This privacy policy describes how Coinbase Bermuda Technologies Limited ("CBTL" or "we" or "us" or "our"), as the controller in applicable jurisdictions, collects, uses and shares personal information when we make available to users certain software services accessible via web browser and/or mobile device application, including (a) self-custodial externally owned accounts (each, an "EOA"), (b) individual onchain accounts powered by self-custodial smart contract wallets (each, a "Base Account") and (c) a mobile software application that enables users with an EOA or Base Account to access onchain applications and protocols and engage in peer-to-peer transactions on blockchain networks ("Base App" formerly known as Coinbase Wallet and together with Base Accounts, collectively the "Services").
If you reside outside of the UK and the European Economic Area (the "EEA"), accessing and using our Services means that you accept this Privacy Policy and its terms.

We will never sell your information to third parties. If you link your Base Account with your Coinbase Retail account, you may receive marketing communications in accordance with your communication preferences associated with your Coinbase Retail account. You can manage your preferences within your Coinbase Retail account. You can also manage your connected accounts in your Base App settings.
Data Stored Onchain
Our Services allow you to manage your digital assets, in reliance on existing public, permissionless blockchains (like Ethereum and Solana) for transaction processing.
Blockchains store metadata of the transaction combined with a payload. Each user participating in a transaction may, for instance, be associated with an identifier composed of a series of alphanumeric characters, which constitutes a public key derived from a private key known to the user. This information is public and can be accessed by anyone on the Internet.
Our Coinbase family of companies or affiliates
Our "family of companies" is the group of companies related to us by common control or ownership ("Affiliates"). Personal information that we process and collect may be transferred between companies, Services, and employees affiliated with us as a normal part of conducting business and offering our Services to you.
Third Party Users
Your Basename and other information posted onchain is public, meaning that anyone on the Base App, Farcaster, or related third party protocols can view your Basename Information, Connected Social Media Information, Content you Share, and any other Blockchain Data that is publicly available. Users with whom you interact with may store or re-share your information with others, on or off of our Services.
Third Party Service Providers
We work with third-party providers to help us operate, provide, improve, customize, support, and market our Services. For example, we work with companies to distribute our apps, provide our infrastructure, facilitate payments to merchants or other commerce partners, and to help curate your social feed. Data disclosed for this purpose may include Basic Personal Information, Basename Information, Wallet Information, Financial Information and Content You Share.
Marketing and Advertising Partners
We work with third party marketing and advertising partners to help us to select advertisements for you or measure and improve advertising effectiveness. Data disclosed for this purpose may include your Basename Information, Wallet Information, Blockchain Data, App, Browser, and Device Information (such state or country code), Product Usage Information (your interaction with our ads).
Professional advisors, industry partners, authorities and regulators

Linked Third Party Services
When you use third-party services (like when you connect your Base Account with decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, or other services) or websites that are linked through our Services, the providers of those services or products may receive information about you that we, you, or others share with them. This includes XMTP for our peer-to-peer messaging and Farcaster, which is a decentralized social media protocol. Please note that when you connect or use third-party services their own terms and privacy policies will govern your use of those services and products.
Data Shared to a Third Country
To facilitate our global operations, Coinbase, its Affiliates, third-party partners, and service providers may transfer, store, and process your personal information throughout the world, including Ireland, Germany, Singapore, the UK, the US, and the Philippines.
If you reside in the EEA, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, we rely upon a variety of legal mechanisms to facilitate these transfers of your personal information (collectively, "European Personal Data").
We retain your personal information as needed to provide our Services, comply with legal obligations, or protect our or others' interests. While retention requirements vary by country, we maintain internal retention and deletion policies on the basis of how information needs to be used. This includes considerations such as when the information was collected or created, whether it is necessary in order to continue offering you our Services, whether we are required to hold the information to comply with our legal obligations, or information preservation requirements. We also keep certain information where necessary to protect the safety, security and integrity of our Services and Users.
In line with these considerations, we delete information that is no longer needed for the above purposes, or when you request deletion of your information.
The Services are not directed to persons under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly request or collect any information about persons under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, please do not provide any personal information through the Services. If an individual submitting personal information is suspected of being younger than 18 years of age, Coinbase will require the relevant individual to close their account, and will take steps to delete the individual's information as soon as possible.
Depending on where you live, you may be able to exercise certain privacy rights related to your personal information. If any of the rights listed below are not provided under law for your operating entity or jurisdiction, Coinbase has absolute discretion in providing you with these rights.
To protect your privacy and security and the limited amount of information we collect in order to provide our Services, we may take steps to verify your identity before complying with your request and we may decline your request if we are unable to verify your identity.
Under certain US data privacy laws, as well as in Brazil, you may also designate an authorized agent to make these requests on your behalf.
These rights are not absolute, and may be denied: (a) when granting access or assisting portability would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others; (b) to protect our rights and properties; (c) where the request is frivolous or vexatious; or (d) as otherwise permitted by law.
